It’s occured to me that in the past few weeks I’m more than I have in the rest of my entire college career. Which, I guess is a good thing. I really rather need to get something published if I want to have an sort of income in the coming years because any related jobs don’t exist.
On the other hand. We need to stop comparing everybody we disagree with to Nazis and Hitler. Would somebody please think of the other minorities that were mass murdering fucktards? I’m mean, shit, Stalin hardly gets any play anymore. But there are plenty of people to go around and we’re doing a diservice to our country. We’re being intellectually lazy. And what about all the people who would have been mass murdering fucktards but didn’t have the equipment to do so?

Today I helped to save a bunch of trees by pitching file after file of paper ranging anywhere between 10 and 20 years old into the recycling bin. Not just that, but I found the Form of Truth. The outdated form that allowed for the ordering of more outdated forms. The truly sad part was finding the old forms, then finding the even older outdated forms behind them. You’d think, you really would, that they’d have pitched those when they put the new ones in. Then again, you wonder why bureaucracies work so well.
I’ve also gotten quite a bit of writing done as of late. It’s still not quite where I’d like, but it’s a definite improvement over where I was even last semester.
The thing this has spawned is my closer reading of Douglas Adams. The first time I went through those books I thought they were just hilarious. However, reading them with an emphasis on studying stylistic elements produces quite a different experience that, while I would say isn’t as funny, is much more enjoyable. Noticing just how he paces things, sets them up, and then swoops in for the finish is an enlightening and thrilling experience. Just noticing how he intersperses actions with dialog–one of my worst areas–has helped me quite a bit as has looking at how he does expository description. Even internal character thoughts and motivations are something exciting.
Jack of All Trades came today and I’d like to say, it’s even better than I remember, probably because I was about 10 something when it was first on. Now I happen to get quite a few more of the references.

Well, the guitar practice continues as usual. To be honest, it’s not like practicing the same chords over and over makes for an exciting read. Nor does working. Though, I’ve discovered that working for an academic college is a nice way to be able to score free swag on the Internet. Who’s going to say that a college of science doesn’t have an academic reason to request free posters? Nobody. So there’s some evil.
More interesting, I’ve been watching the HBO miniseries on John Adams. It’s really a disturbing thing when the HBO series has less sex than what actually happened.

More and more of the same. Simply practicing switching chords. Getting better at going between G-C-D. After getting those down I’ll look into adding more.

Day Four: I actually didn’t get anything done. Got home from work, went to eat and then ended up passing out.
Day Five: Did more work on the G-Chord. I picked up the C & D-Chord. Aside from getting those down more solid I worked on switching between them — which is still a massive fail. Still, it’s better than where I was. I can actually hit the G-Chord every so often.

Betsy Ross a.k.a. Kaywinnith "Kaylee" Lee Frye
Day 1: Given the lull in research and evil doing due to the construction of the labs I figured it was finally time to learn to play the guitar. To that end I picked up this lovely Fender Stratocaster. I figured out strumming a bit and figured out a G-Chord. Holding the thing is still a bit of a problem. Still, for the first few hours of actually trying to play a guitar it went pretty well.
Day 2: Worked out holding the guitar better. Got the G-Chord even better. Also worked on being able to lift my fingers on and off while strumming. I still haven’t gotten the left-hand down.
Day 3: Worked on the G-Chord more. Started on the D-Chord. I think I’ve got my left-hand form a lot better. The excercise on hitting the sixth string with all four fingers in succession did a decent job. Also adjusted the straps some more and that helped quite a bit. Probably work on the C-Chord tomorrow. I also need to actually work more on being able to actually move my fingers from chord to chord.

Sheesh, the way these scientists bitch you’d think they consider construction to a field more complicated than quantum physics. Apparently they don’t realize you can’t put these kinds of things together in a day. All day long I get calls from these Ph.D’s in this in that complaining that their offices or labs haven’t been built. Seriously, anybody else would be glad to be getting paid to do nothing, but no, not these people. Shit, I’d love it. I’d be going all over Europe, take a cruise, see the world. No, these pinheads just want to sit in some artificially lighted concrete box and peruse through some journal. Where did we find these guys?
Dr. Proletariat is the worst; mainly because I’m actually obliged to have to listen to him. I have a feeling he hates our weekly meetings as much as I do. I can only imagine that they bitch at him twice as much as me. In fact, I think he’s actually taken up working in a closet so that they can’t find him. I don’t even understand why we even let half these people on the premises. There’s nothing for them to do yet. It’ll be at least six months before any lab will be operational for anything. Dr. Prole won’t even consider having any of the glassware delivered from the warehouses until we’re at least done with excavation and blasting projects.
We’ve got to get the perimeter security and the housing units in before any actual biological work can be started. I don’t know why people would be in such a hurry to spend weeks at a time here. Current safety procedures have people staying in the isolation housing for at least a week before they can leave the premises. Well, it’s not exactly isolation. Basically a separate apartment complex were they stay so we know they aren’t actually infected with anything.
I think that I may just find me a closet as well.

We just finished installing the emergency saftey systems into the Biological Specimens Receiving Lab. We’ll be running tests this weekend to assess its functionality. Should everything prove to be in working order we’ll be able to continue not receiving anything as we don’t have any holding labs anywhere close to being finished. We also don’t have a staff hired for the lab yet, but that’s a minor issue.
The holding labs are next on the list, but we aren’t allowed to even begin any operations until the outside defenses are up and running. Needless to say the outside walls are last on the list due to construction needs.

I haven’t written in awhile. Been busy preparing for my new job as the head of scientific research at GAAUP’s new Zombie Defense Research Laboratory. Sure, it may seem a bit hypocritical of me to take an honest job with honest pay, but my dissertation was on Solanum. That isn’t to say that I’ve given up evil. If anything, this job will allow me to greatly increase my evil output. Just think about how much evil I can get done now that I can hire minions for my personal lab? Not only that, but I can finance the more technical projects.
I’ll also have access to some of the most advanced biological labs in the entire world. Labs that are surrounded by a veritable fortress that would make middle ages kings jealous. I won’t be able to get any of the z-viruses out of the labs and to be honest, I wouldn’t want to. Ruling over the world requires there actually be people to rule over. Not to say that I won’t use such a threat to blackmail world governments. Let’s just say that there isn’t even a bomb that is yet capable of penetrating the entrance structure to the labs. If that wasn’t enough, and I’m not allowed to discuss specifics, let’s just say we’re more than extremely well armed in both man-power and arms.
I’m really excited to be starting this job though. It’ll be nice to finally get back to doing some research and developments. Besides managing the scientific research projects of the faculty I’ll be the lead editor for the new research journal we’ll be launching. Hopefully everything will be fully operational by the end of the year.

To those who hacked the road signs to warn of raptors and zombies I say bravo. It was indeed good for a couple of chuckles and breaking of the monotony of the drive to work. A good start at social chaos I suppose. We can’t all be professionals.
Still, while it’s a nice touch it does nothing to really spread discord or break people from their monotony. Where’s the messages to make them think? The idea is to make them think twice about what they’re doing. You want to have them consider if they really are happy with their life or if they think they could go out and do something better.
Where’s the “Obey!” “Be more complacent” and “Do not resist” signs? There’s a plethora of better messages to spread through the population. Get to it. I’d help, but Mr. Bourgeoisie is coming over for the poker game tonight.
